Steps To Take In The Event of An Accident

Being involved in an auto accident can be one of the worst days of your life. As difficult as it may be, it is important that you remain calm.  Know what is expected of you beforehand and have your broker’s name and office number saved in your phone for quick reporting of your claim.

• Move your vehicle out of traffic if it is safe to do so
• Check for injuries both in your own and other vehicle(s) (if applicable)
• Exchange information with the other driver (if applicable)
• Report the accident if damage exceeds $2,000
• Contact your insurance broker with the following information:
  • Insured vehicle involved, the driver involved
  • Date, time and location of the accident
  • Third-party (the other driver) information (if applicable)
  • Incident report number, responding officer name, badge number and contact info
